Lithuania records one of highest inflation rates in EU in March

Lithuania recorded one of the highest annual inflation rates in the European Union in March, according to data released by Eurostat.

Harmonised annual inflation in Lithuania stood at 4.4%, placing it among the bloc’s highest. Only Croatia, at 4.6%, and Romania, at 9%, recorded faster price growth.

Among the Baltic states, annual inflation reached 3.4% in Latvia and 3.5% in Estonia.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Lithuania rose by 1.5% in March. Prices increased by 1.9% in Latvia, while remaining unchanged in Estonia.

Across the European Union, annual inflation averaged 2.8%, while the rate in the eurozone stood at 2.6%.

Month-on-month, prices rose by 1.1% in the EU and 1.3% in the eurozone, according to Eurostat.
